What Do We Mean by Logical?

Properly speaking, logic refers to the coherence of thought, which is different from truth. For instance, if I say:
"Men have wings, I am a man, therefore I have wings,"
I am making an absolutely logical argument: whether the propositions are true or false is another matter.

We could say that what is not logical is devoid of meaning—it is neither true nor false.

If, by logic, we mean principles that seem entirely self-evident to us, then modern science (new physics) operates beyond them. For example, even the relativity of time and space appears entirely contrary to intuition. Likewise, the law of gravity, according to which two bodies attract each other in a vacuum, also seems contrary to what would appear evident to us (consider the concept of the ether).
