Arab Influence on Europe
There was a long period when Europe sank into barbarism and backwardness, while
the Arab-Muslim world (as well as the Chinese and Indian worlds) was certainly
more advanced than ours.
Indeed, the Arab world rediscovered the ancient culture of the Mediterranean,
and at a certain point, through Spain, this knowledge returned to us.
However, this is just one of many episodes from a distant past, and it does not
justify the claim that our culture descends from the Arab world.
