Asylum in the Constitution
Our Constitution establishes that anyone who does not enjoy constitutional rights in their own country has the right to asylum in Italy. However, since the entirety of Africa, the Middle East, and other poor countries find themselves in this situation, we would, in theory, need to welcome everyone who wishes to come.
But this is impossible, and it is not feasible to do what is impossible.
Furthermore, it is unclear why the focus is solely on those who risk their lives crossing the sea, rather than on those who might calmly apply for asylum through embassies, consulates, and similar channels. Essentially, anyone could come to us, as long as they do not come from the most developed and advanced countries, which in any case would not need to.
