St. Francis and Christianity
If being Christian means being like St.
Francis (or Padre Pio), then Christianity is only for a very few chosen
individuals. But if we envision a Christianity that does not exclude ordinary
people (the common folk), then it must align with the needs of people who desire
well-being, success, marriage, children, and many other things.
Thus, if the Church had strictly adhered to Franciscan principles, only a few
would have remained Christian, the churches would have emptied, and it would not
have lasted for two thousand years.
