Arabs of Israel
Arab citizens of Israel have full rights and even vote for the Knesset. In no
other state do they enjoy comparable freedom, and in no other country do they
vote. Certainly, they are also subject to surveillance to prevent actions
against the state, so in some ways, they face discrimination. However, an Arab
is freer in Israel than in Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, or Gaza, where, aside from
poverty, any trace of freedom is entirely absent.
It is true that Israel, the only state in the world, grants citizenship based on
belonging to a people (not a faith), but this peculiarity does not affect the
equality of its citizens, whether Arab or Jewish.
