Palestinian Nation
When it is said that Palestinians do not exist as a nation, it means that they do not distinguish themselves in language and culture from other Arabs in neighboring countries (Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, etc.), and that they have never had their own state in history, which is certainly true. This argument is made to suggest that the Palestinian refugees of 1948 could have been absorbed by the vast Arab world (just as the refugees from Istria were absorbed by Italy, the Sudeten Germans by Germany, and so on).
