At the Helm of Revolutions
Revolutions are led by educated people, not by manual laborers (as they were once called). It is true that throughout history, individuals from uneducated classes have reached very high levels, not only in modern times but also in the classist past (Roman emperors, cardinal ministers). However, these were always exceptions because genius tends to emerge regardless. But the vast majority of the ruling class comes from educated families because family culture greatly benefits them. Generally, culture is found in the affluent classes, not among laborers, workers, or manual laborers. In fact, during the French Revolution, the Jacobins were nobles, as were the Mazzinians in the Risorgimento, and the bourgeoisie in the communist revolutions. Even today, trade unionists are not true workers.
