Sexuality and Society
Sexuality is NOT a private and personal matter but impacts society by its very
existence.
In the past, infant mortality was extremely high, and every group was always on
the brink of extinction; therefore, it was considered immoral to have sex while
trying to avoid procreation. Subsequently, birth rates increased dramatically,
and in China, the third child was even legally banned (effectively making
abortion mandatory).
In our society, however, low birth rates have become a truly serious and looming
threat, and thus there is an effort to increase births: we should aim for at
least two children per couple.
