Work and Family
The problem, I believe, is that children require a lot of care: those who are
fully committed to achieving success at work do not have time for children.
Meloni claims to be a mother, but in fact, she does not perform the role,
offloading the responsibility onto someone else for pay.
In theory, we might think that men could take on this role, but this would just
invert the roles, which is not an easy change to implement.
On the other hand, fathers are also inevitably influenced by their children:
anyone who wants to be free to do whatever they want should not have emotional
ties.
In some way, love and freedom are in conflict, as Bellavista used to say.
