Democracy and Sciencc
I believe that democracy is driven by the development of sciences (Popper and
others), in that knowledge is never definitive but always subject to revision.
In Galileo’s time, people saw the sun move across the sky: how could they think
it was stationary? And yet, geocentrism has been proven wrong. Who knows,
perhaps one day even heliocentrism will be surpassed.
Similarly, I believe that fascism was a disaster, but if others consider it a
good thing, they must be free to say so; otherwise, it would be fascism in
reverse.
In other words, I do not consider myself the ultimate judge of truth, where some
assessments are right and others wrong: no one has the ultimate and definitive
truth.
