Declining Birthrates
The declining birthrate is not only due to difficulties in harmonizing work and
family life; I would say that's perhaps the least significant cause. There are
many other factors: the difficulty of finding stable employment, the lengthy
time it takes to find it, and the high level of prosperity to which we are
accustomed. I would say above all it's the breakdown of the family: everyone
wants to do what they like without feeling obligated, they don't even want the
marital bond, all of which conflicts with the stability that childhood needs.
