 History and Religion

We Westerners have discovered (or invented) history, and therefore, we adjust our judgment to the times: it is true that the law of God is immutable, yet it can always be interpreted, so a Pope Francis cannot be equated with an Innocent III, certainly not. In the Islamic world (I would say non-Western), on the other hand, what was right 1500 years ago is still considered right today: and this creates an unbridgeable gap between the rapidly changing world and the insistence on adhering to the rules of 1500 years ago.
