Democracy

Only in 1945 were the fascisms defeated in fierce wars by both sides, with millions of casualties. Even in '68, students were challenging democracy, and it was only in '89 that communism finally collapsed. In the modern West, I do not see a crisis of democracy at all; on the contrary, populists claim to want to follow the will of the people in contrast to the establishments. Nowhere in the West do I see movements that seek to limit freedom of thought or abolish pluralistic elections.
