Uniqueness of the Holocaust
In wars, it can happen that entire populations are wiped out in military operations, but the Holocaust is the only case in which a genocide occurred outside of military operations against a people who were not fighting and not resisting. Millions of people were deported and killed SOLELY because they were Jewish, where that SOLELY means that they had done nothing against their murderers; on the contrary, they allowed themselves to be deported in a disciplined and orderly manner, unaware of their fate.
